Does anyone know if the ESIO deal to purchase AISI is on hold or still in process? I think that the acquisition of AISI would definitely put a more bullish spin on ESIOs future even though they are positioned quite well without the acquisition.

Does anyone have an opinion on the November quarter? ESI's CEO had this to say last quarter:

<<<In announcing the results, Donald R. VanLuvanee, ESI's CEO and President said, ''The integration of our two June mergers is proceeding well with both acquired entities contributing to the quarter's earnings per share. The product line expansion represented by both Chip Star's termination equipment and Dynamotion's mechanical drilling machines adds significantly to ESI's served markets.

Both acquired businesses experienced sequential sales expansion for the quarter. Backlog at August 31, 1997 was $30 million, compared to $25 million on May 31, 1997. Customer demand in each of ESI's served markets is strong and the products introduced over the last year continue to represent a growing percentage of sales. We are seeing an increase in multiple unit inquiry and quote activity.>>

With a bigger backlog starting this quarter vs. last quarter and an increase in multiple unit inquiries and quote activity, we should see an increase in sequential quarterly revenues. I don't know how this flows down to the bottom line, but we sure could use a boost after the recent price deterioration.
