My favorite Wind Power scenario from the Elliott study is the most severe land exclusion option with wind power class 4 or greater. This would produce 3500 TWh using only 2.84% of the land area of the contiguous US. (The study says 2674 TWh would be produced at 50 meters which equals 3500 TWh at 80 meters). This implies using only 1.42% of the US land area produces 1750 TWh of electricity. Consequently, the use of coal could be virtually eliminated.
