<<It is always a risky, desparate strategy to average down>>
Boy, I don't know. Once I've evaluated the fundamentals, I'm more than happy to average down. Did it with Telbras (93,91, 88,85) and Quantum (27 3/8, 25 1/2), and just today did it with Oxford Health Plans (25 3/4, 23 1/4). What I always fail to do is average up - as a rule, I don't want to find myself caught up in the emotion of "it's up, so it looks more attractive." If Quantum falls under 25, I'll average down some more. I use fundamentals to find investments then TA to decide when to buy. Works.
