What was the six Bil for? What did it buy for Intel and what did it compensate Dell for?

It was "reward for customer loyalty."

There were TONS of reasons to exclude AMD completely. Just because DELL's competitors didn't exclude AMD doesn't mean DELL made a mistake when they made their decision: In retrospect, Dell made the wrong decision.

Please stop trying to "recharacterize loyalty rewards as bribes."
