The financial crisis in Asia and Latin America will
have little impact on the semiconductor equipment
market, says Information Network, a Williamsburg,
VA based research firm. Asian firms have fought furiously
to gain market share in the memory chip market.
Now, the industry is upgrading to more advanced chips.
Asian firms must invest in new manufacturing systems
or be left behind. Many Asian governments are funding
fab construction.
