My immediate feeling was maybe company thinks there might be a buyout attempt in foreseeable future, but article specifically says not. Of course, that does not necessarily mean they don't think it'll happen, just that it's not currently in the works. Maybe someone (an officer perhaps or director) once got stung in a buyout. Or maybe it's a reaction to the court ruling in the shareholders suit re Seagram's buyout of Universal Studios. All the companies talk about taking care of their stockholders but this is a rare example of one of them actually doing something specifically for the shareholders. At any rate, I like it, I appreciate it.
