To go back for a moment to our discussion,

So we have a limitless god with limits.

Yeah... If God is omnipotent, He must be able to accept self imposed limits. In Judeo-Christian tradition, God makes deals with humans... the very same God in Islamic interpretation (from what I read) is never bound by any deals. THe way people understand their gods has important repercussions in their culture, including their political culture. A society where human rights are "god given" is more likely to be respectful of those rights than a civilization whose God does not accept any rules whatsoever, and makes no deals and grants no rights.
