All companies are different but basically the company directors have specific windows to buy and sell their companies securities. The reason is simple, to prevent the class action lawsuits so common to this valley. COMS is fairly paranoid about this stuff although I can't recall a suit filed against them.

Did you know that within the last year COMS instituted a freeze for ALL employees that prohibits trading for certain time periods? For example begining yesterday through the week of X-mas as an employee you cannot sell your shares or buy or sell options. That's a bit extreme in my opinion but hey , they have their reasons.
