Also Izzy, my HMO pays for everthing. I prefer not to mention their name. This HMO pays for everything including blood monitoring which is done at least every two months. The only expense that I pay is the monthly premium and $5 deductible for each drug. I live in NYC and I believe that most HMO"S pick up costs. If necessary, one may apply to state ADAP for assistance. I don't believe anyone is denied who seriously wants treatment. Viracept is very easy to take, dosage three times a day. I have three little pill cases that I that I put the meds in to make it convenient, organized and discreet. I take the meds morning and evening at home. Intra day I take one of the little pill cases with me which at that time is only three pills of Viracept. Taking these meds consistently helps me maintain a healthy regular diet. I probably eat better now than ever. Morning: Bowl of cereal and fresh squeezed OJ w/ meds Lunch: usually baked potato with broccali, salad etc w/meds Evening: I eat what ever I want w/meds. If I am hungry in between, I eat fruits, apples, a lot of oranges, cantalope etc. I'll be really happy when the Viracept BID (twice daily is approved). Then the taking of meds will be not such a life style. Currently, I jog 3-4 miles per day and have never felt healthier. Nobody would ever suspect that I have Aids.
