The poll found that 78 percent oppose cutting spending on Medicare

This is disappointing, not surprising. It suggests that the American People STILL have no grasp of the scope of the problems our country faces.


I have to admit that Americans are slow learners. But I think they are beginning to really see what the problem is in this country....and its not Medicare. Its the Republican party. I think Americans got that Bush was a major loser and set the country back at least 20 years but I think they thought he was an aberration. With the recent election this past November, its becoming clearer he was no aberration but rather the tip of the iceberg. Hence, the recalls in WI, the way too close SC judge election in that same state, the decline of poll ratings for the GOP and its new governors, the lack of good GOP candidates to run against Obama, et al.

The GOP either has to reform itself, or face becoming a regional party.
