Once again, though, there's no evidence Apple is actually using the information in any way, or even that they upload it.

And your post badly mischaracterizes my opinion on the matter, to the point of being libelous. I said nothing like that. In fact, if there is anything illegal about anything Apple is doing, I am not in favor of it.
