I think it would only effect you if you decide to buy over the next few months. By the end of the year, production should be back to normal.

However, I do think there is a bigger picture. I believe TM's troubles and the earthquake/tsunami will be the exclamation point signaling the end of the Japanese era as a major economy. The baton is getting passed to China and some of the other Asian powers. Japan has become the old man of Asia.
