Not to give credence to anything the biased IMF says, but if one thinks of the two countries (USA and China) as two competitive teams, one must ask himself (a) which team has the smartest and most intellectually capable players right now, and (b) what will the team's player compositions look like in 10, 20, and 30 years.

With that in mind, Team USA's prospects look exceptionally bleak.

Moreover, the Chinese actually make and export things, which is something the USA used to do decades ago.

Meanwhile, the USA's braintrust is good at manipulative accounting, falsifying data, and artificially creating wealth for its largest political donors.

Even a decade ago, who knew the world battle for dominance would ultimately come down to Communist Red China and their clique of BRICS v. the formerly-Capitalistic, but now fascist and suicidal, USA? -ng-
