Gus, Have you heard of a company called Ecrix which is a venture capital start up with a supposedly revolutionary tape product. The venture capitalist tells me the primary difference is that the drive is non-tracking. They are looking for the drive to be low cost and highly reliable with pretty respectable specs. Also, have you heard any details of the IBM, SEG, HP joint venture in tape. I understand from SEG that standards are nearly finalized and they hope for product next year. If so, this would be a considerably faster birth than Exabyte's Mammoth or DLT 7000. each of which was at least a year late to my understanding.
