1.5-2 hours, prefer singles. Aggressive game, cover court decently and enjoy going deep into corners. Play about three times a week. Only been playing for about two years, but played tournament squash and still have hand/eye and cat quick hands. Now play against younger, experienced guys and they aren't bored. Blinding fast serve, but.... well... accuracy seems to be a problem. Hit a heavy forehand with good accuracy, but only reliable backhand is cut. Never had a lesson, but remedying such in a week.

:-)

Had most of medial meniscus removed from right knee, open knee, over 40 years ago. After cast came off, Doc told me to go home and sit on the edge of table doing exercises to build strength. Instead, I went out and played intramural basketball. Went back to doc to have blood/fluid drained out ("Damn, doc, what could have caused this??") with about a frigging TWO gauge needle ( :-), and repeated cycle of doc's instructions/basketball/horse needle.

Can't explain it, since most or all of my cartilage was sitting in a bottle at home for years, but..... if I prophylax with ibuprofen, I can play HARD, two days running.

Train at gym, off days. Eliptical only, if I've been playing tennis. Stair climber, treadmill, or Peter's Concept 2 rowing machine, otherwise. Taking it easy on knees. Weights/sets, progressively heavier/more, but avoid deep squats.

I set the Concept 2 on "8" and focus on 1 km/5 min, for 20-30. If you can do 6 km in 30 minutes, you'll get off feeling like Superman. Any decent gym has a Concept 2.

Only discussing this here (off topic!), as exercise has been batted about on the biotech valuation thread. But.....

Don't really know why I'm faster and more mobile than other guys my age. I believe that it's because I took two strong anti-inflammatories my entire life, one being aspirin (for headaches).

To blend with some of the comments in "valuation".... said headaches had made a couch monster out of me. Was normal-weight obese. Found a triptan for the headaches, and got new life handed to me on silver platter. Went to gym, and limited my initial attempts at exercise to what felt non-life threatening. Seven years later, I now consider myself a frigging court warrior, and I plan to win some kind of masters championship, somewhere, sometime.

:-)

I never knew how bad chronic pain was, until I was on this side of it. From dark rooms and pain to conditioned athlete. May EVERYONE find their pain medicine!!

Sorry if this message offended anyone, here in the contest thread.

For any of our newbies who do not know about the valuation thread? (As if!)
