Seems to me, and in discussion with several friends, a pill, despite the possible side effects will still be the first method they would try. Side effects such as diarrhea are common with almost any medication you take. If, after a trial of Viagra, the results weren't too your liking or the side effects were bad, then a trial of MUSE might be the next step. And if this is a patient who would not have seeked out help for his ED in the first place, then the "hope" of a pill, (Viagra) has brought in another MUSE customer. I also think a lot will depend on how the alternative treatments are presented by the Urologists, Internists, and other health care providers. Any bias towards one method will push most patients toward that treatment. Despite a much more educated consumer (read - patient), the physician/health care provider has a tremendous influence, especially on the older patients who will be less likely to ask the right questions and educate themselves to possible alternative treatments.
