Temp, I've just spent the last hour getting caught up. Half that time was devoted to the debate regarding FTEL's application and listing to NASDAQ prior to the IPO'ng of FNET.
"Franklin my dear, I don't give a damn" Brett Butterball
The truth of the matter as you implied is that a NASDAQ listing is desirable, but certainly not a prerequisite to FNET's IPO. When a company applies to NASDAQ the process can be a long and drawn out affair, very similar to the S-1. BTW, a company doesn't apply for the small -cap or full listing on NASDAQ, that is determined via the investigation process and solely rests on the resulting outcome.
To me there are higher priorities to be focused on in preparation to the IPO. For example, a management team must be installed, afterall who is going to run FNET? It is a separate company that will need to be staffed.
Will this staff be drawn from the talent pool from within Franklin?
IF FNET is headquartered in the present facility that the NOC is housed, then does that mean FTEL will be moving their headquarters?
Could this be orchestrated with an expansion of manufacturing faciities?
This is not to say that any of the above holds any water either, but in my minds-eye it certainly takes precedence over the "chicken or egg" debate that took up about 100 preceding messages.
The next in a series of anticipated events that I am anxiously awaiting, are the 1st quarter results ending Sept 31st. Also now that the quiet period has been lifted I would expect to hear updates regarding the Digital Express venture, along with an outline of possible ventures that FNET is entering into.
We still need to hear about how the distribution pipeline of product from FTEL will be channeled.
There should also be an update sometime after Thanksgiving that would give us indication of how the evaluation period translated into orders.
To me the basic fundamentals pertaining to the companies development and day to day operations takes precedence over cosmetics. The company now has a hoard of cash, what they do with it is paramount to the end result.
In other words, it's crunch time.
