Gotcha. It's a birther question to ask why Obama's been hiding his birth certificate for three years, while they held Congressional hearings and ran front page New York Times stories on whether John McCain was eligible to run for President because he was born in the Canal Zone.

No double standard, no sirree. Nothing to see here, move right along.

The nice touch was getting Hawaiian officials to intone that nobody could release their long form certificate, nobody, I tell you, not even the President! Which was repeated uncritically by our state-run media. Then polls showed a majority of Americans were starting to doubt where Obama was born. So Obama finally asked for its release and got it in five days. Bet those officials feel special now -g-

The disdain for his audience is striking. One week we're supposed to believe the release is impossible, next week the release is easy. Obama is starting to resemble the Polish authorities under the Soviets, who deliberately released such shoddily retouched photos to go with their propaganda stories that anybody could see the fakery at a glance. They just didn't care. Speaking of which, the initial reports from Illustrator experts is the birth certificate on Obama's website has a curious set of little bits and pieces left on its clipboard, as if it had been manipulated. Shades of another Rathergate story? or is Obama messing with our heads?
