If I cut and paste a lot of bits of information on a piece of paper and then scan it, I have a scan of a constructed document. I then give it to you.

If you then scan the scanned piece of paper, you have an accurate scan of the scan. That's all he's saying, that AP didn't mess with what was given them, they just scanned it. Says nothing about the original.

I must say that this was of little interest to me until he released whatever it is he released. It has gotten much more interesting since then.

Having been married to a reasonably good con at one point (god rest her soul), who had a flare for calligraphy and knew her way around a copying machine, I'm surprised at this. Not to mention it would be much more believable if there had been added some detail that might be a little personally embarrassing to provide cover for the years it was withheld at great expense.

A better forgery and some embarrassing detail included and this goes away. As it is, people will be pondering this for decades ala the grassy knoll with JFK, or the third person at Oklahoma City.
