Sounds like my energy will be better spent buying that 500GB hybrid notebook drive and restoring my image to that.

As I am getting older (and wiser) it sometimes gets to the point that pissing around with things sometimes isn't worth it.

Like how many times am I going to see why that Pentium (which still worked) with 256MB RAM is acting up, after tossing windows and installing Linux (since 99.9% of the activity will be with FireFox)? It is not worth my time - spend money and buy a new box.

60% of me thinks I should move from Vista to Win7 through an upgrade. But 40% thinks MSFT should have given everyone the ability to upgrade from their crappy OS to Win7 for free as they did, to save THEMSELVES grief.

Moving to the new drive was an idea but I felt the energy was better spent elsewhere. But to see if the restore will work it probably would be prudent.

Riddle me this PMS ---- does a drive connected via eSATA fall into the same camp as USB? (to me eSATA was an extension of SATA and not necessarily "removable"). If I buy that new 500GB drive and connect it with an eSATA cable, will I be able to restore the image without physically installing it? I am leaning towards yes.
