M.A., you might have something there. But I disagree with GTE's attempt to buy MCI. Unless there was something in the deal we didn't know about, it was not a smart deal. Was it a smart deal for WCOM? We'll see, you've got to wonder why everyone wants a big piece of Long Distance when the competion is only going to become fierce. Government officials are talking about .03 a minute as a fair price for usuage rates. This is not a business for being highly leveraged and having the price of one of your main products falling. If Lee were really working for the shareholders he would merge with someone big like BT, the only other salvation for the shareholders is to be aquired. Hay maybe you can ask Bernie to work another deal? Boy I'd love to have some of that paper. One more deal like MCI and you might be using those shares to paper you bathroom.
