that's the biggest history re-writing bs on this board. Ok, let's follow your logic. Intel was up against a P4 power wall with no viable alternative, so they instantly produced Core2 within days of realizing they were in trouble. No advanced planning whatsoever. Brilliant! If CPUs can be designed overnight as you suggest, how do you explain the 5 years the DullBozer design team has been thrashing about helplessly?
