It appears that he made those conclusions without checking the tops of POG and shares in the 80's. You need to do your own home work dude. He may be correct for the short term, but the major tops showed the opposite.

To make the maximum profits is still to hold a core PM position and only trade a portion of it, long or short, if that is what one wishes. The key is to ride the bull without making a major mistake. Not many people are smarter than the market. We don't need to be smarter than the market if we have a good strategy.

The most important thing is to take profts continuously while the bull runs its course. Rotate some of the profits to other long term under valued investment and charities. We won't know when the run is over until much later. One day we see our 'other' investment has grown to the same size of our PM positions we know we have done good jobs in investment. <G>
