Reflection: Both Bush and Obama deserve credit for the successful operation that got Osama.

The initial intelligence about the two couriers that were sheltering Osama was developed years ago from interrogations of detainees at Guantanamo.

Obama chose for the US to NOT lead from behind on this operation. It was a US operation with Pakistan not even informed till after the fact. Obama reportedly rejected a missile strike on the Osama compound and went with a riskier boots on the ground attack to verify Osama was there and bring him out. From what I've read, Osama, one of his brothers and the two couriers and a woman that one of the Osama party took shelter behind were killed. Some other women and perhaps others were removed alive by helicopter.

I wonder if the operation had failed whether we'd ever have heard of it.

At any rate, praise God for the successful operation with no loss of American life.

PS I like Steve Harris' idea of pulled pork barbecue today in Osama's honor.
