Zeev: The most interesting way they can manipulate the market is through control of interest rates. The Greenspan model shows the equities (the S&P) are correctly valued now IF interest rates decline AND expected earnings are assumed correct. It also would create less of a problem if demand for bonds ih high at a time when there is a massive selloff of bonds by the Japanese and the gov needs someone to buy them. It doesn't rule out the potential for interest-rate increases in the future, it just solves a lot of short-term problems.
