Just compare this to the Son Tay raid that never came off to rescue our Vietnam prisoners and Carter's desert disaster. The Son Tay raid happened. The prisoners were moved shortly before the assault into N Vietnam. The assault happened. The difference from today is tech advances in intel gathering. One of the Son Tay Raiders is a close personal friend of mine who still works for SF. I knew others who are deceased. I also know many of those on Desert One...The deputy CDR for that raid was a regular handball buddy.
