When you receive your certs.. you may immediately take them to a local broker for deposit and don't sign them until you get there. Now they are available for you to sell anytime you decide to, with just a call to that broker. Or, you can keep them at home, unsigned, until the day you want to sell them, then take them to that broker. For myself,
taking them over for deposit in advance seems easier, because I will only have to pick up the phone on sell day.
