Swannie, What you are experiencing is what I see bad about the Parliamentary form of government you have. Remember - Parliamentary government gave Chile Allende - without a majority - how did that work out?

I guess no travel discount this summer!

Also, even if Clinton did not get a majority - his election and the election of the House and Senate are three separate events. Add to that the Senate has a rule that requires 60 of 100 votes to enact controversial legislation. Our system is paralytic in some ways - but very protective in others.

Obama had absolute rule for ~ 14 months - look at the economic disaster that brought.

PS: I guess I will pay dearly this summer for the privilege to visit Ontario - and this year Quebec and PEI.
