As these are magic charms to ward off evil and bring wealth, I've heard the Chinese knock-off's don't work so well.

Then again, these charms didn't do jack at stopping earthquakes, tsunamis, or radiation clouds.

Maybe I need to rethink this Maneki Neko thing.
