I've been following this thing pretty closely and am a bit surprised at how the story has been changing. That OBL was unarmed is more than a bit surprising. And then there are all the other discrepancies out there.

I would propose a theory that, in fact, they snatched OBL. From an intelligence standpoint it only makes sense to snatch the guy and then report that he is dead. That would definitely be the cleverest way to go about getting the most value out of the operation. They could alway 'dispose' of him later, after he's spilled his guts, or put him on trial. Point is, when his cohorts think he's dead, they feel safe that he's not giving them up, when, in fact he is.

Or maybe I've read too many spy novels. ;)
