I'll let JOHN W speak for himself, but a bit of background might help put his recent appearance into perspective. In Sept I was reading Jesse Eisinger's article in thestreet.com: archive.thestreet.com and I was surprised at the mutations in HIV after treatment with Viracept. In the past I had recommended AGPH and the company is heavily dependent on Viracept sales. I thought that one of its stong suits was the fact that resistance profiles to Viracept were distinct from other PIs, and that was one of the main reasons that they were able to capture such a large market share. I hadn't been following AGPH that closely, so I thought that some posters on the AGPH could provide an update. JOHN W seemed to think that I was just posting negative info on AGPH. In one case I uploaded an AP article: techstocks.com and JOHN W thought that I was putting a negative spin on the news: techstocks.com I had earlierr indicated that restance would develop and some posters saw nothing wrong with such a view: techstocks.com JOHN W that that PI's could "cure" HIV and cited Dr Ho's model: techstocks.com I indicated that I thought that the model was overly optimistic: techstocks.com More comments from JOHN W: techstocks.com but I stuck by my prediction that resistance would develop: techstocks.com JOHN W then "threatened" to come to the LGND thread: techstocks.com This week, two article in Science indicated that HIV can stick around for extended periods, even when "undetectable" in the blood: techstocks.com JOHN W responded with comments on LGND: techstocks.com
