Zeus, I don't have any sense when it comes to LGND or any other biotech! I've had a few call options which were a reasonable "bet" at the time I got them, I think. I should have sold them when they were profitable, but greed got the better of me and...old story. However, that's my problem, not LGND's fault. I may yet buy the stock, but I'm waiting to see. I visit this thread because I normally enjoy the discourse and education I get here, and the interaction. I visit some other threads for the same reason, whether I currently hold a position in "their" stock or not.
I guess I am just fed up with the ability of one or two disruptive posters to completely change the tone of the threads I enjoy - not with civil disagreement about the merits, but with deliberate and jarring sarcasm, attacks on the regular posters, and general all-around nastiness. If they had valid points to make, no one would listen or benefit from the information due to their tone. If they don't, they make the regulars miserable anyway and bait them into counter-attacks, which escalate...etc. Then they say they were "only" providing another opinion, and blame the others for the war.
There are threads which seem to thrive on arguments, and I avoid them. I suspect a lot of others do too, unless they enjoy the fights. I just get upset when the civility I enjoy in various places is violated for no reason that I can see, other than inability of some to approach other human beings in the spirit of cooperation and sharing of opinions, which would advance the cause of the thread. Respectful disagreement? Cool! Everyone learns from different viewpoints presented well. Disagreeable behavior? Unacceptable and useless.
