Companhia Vale do Rio provides Q1 production report (VALE): "Iron ore production in 1Q11 reached 71.5 Mt1, 3.7% higher than in the same quarter of 2010, a year in which Vale reached an all-time high output of 308 Mt. For 2011 we continue to pursue the goal of 322 Mt -- including the 11 Mt attributable production from Samarco. Pellet output reached a record level for the first quarter, at 12.5 Mt., thus surpassing the mark of 10.8 Mt. achieved in 1Q08.
