Ted, > What I have said is that we need much less boots on the ground and more covert intel work done like we did with capturing and executing bin Laden.

So you're all for waterboarding then?

> I am hoping that with bin Laden's death, America's blood thirst and its need for revenge will be satiated and US troops can start coming home this summer from Afghanistan.

I sure hope so, but you can't blame people for being really pissed off about 9/11.

Covert ops are great, but what's more important is that ultimately, our free society remains safe and secure from these assholes. Yeah we have to put up with TSA crap, but in the end, I like being able to board a plane, train, or bus without worrying about whether the guy next to me wants to blow himself up.

Eventually we'll move to a society where oil isn't as important as it once was and Islamic extremism really does devolve into a "pimple on our ass." But until then, we'll have to play with the hand we were dealt.
