I'd get someone with good eyes to help me with that. Combining those good eyes with a magnifying glass and pair of tweezers should do the trick. I also wonder if there is some kind of dye you could use to highlight the splinter? If you have to do it yourself, I'd use a mirror and an led light to shine it up and get it out.
