Well my new notebook is causing me some problems, tech support said take it in for repairs, I think it's a software problem.
Started last night acting up, HDD runs almost constantly, so I restored the factory image and started from scratch.
Only 2 failed Windows 7 updates, one was a security update, that was successful the second time, the other was IE9, that I canceled out.
After I updated windows, set up trial version of Trend Micro anti virus.
I installed a MS 4000 notebook mouse, all fine. Then updated Asus drivers when prompted.
Then installed FF4, iTunes, then Photoshop CS5 32 bit and 64 bit (yes you can have both installed at the same time)
After a reboot, my HDD was constantly working for 2.5 hours straight, if you tried to open a program, it took minutes to open as the HDD was doing something. Hardly any CPU usage. Then it stopped for 10 minutes, then it stared again for about another 2 hours, then stopped. Now its running normal.
Tech support has no diagnostic tools, and calling Jamaica is not really fun as you keep getting cut off on the phone, 4 times I was cut off, and the techs don't know squat.
Last tech told me to download Tuneup Utilities and run that. Or take it back into the shop for repairs.
Anyone have any ideas?
It's not a virus, as the only place I have gone on the Net was Apple.com and Mozilla.com. No email set up on the machine yet. Photoshop was installed from DVD.
