Intel grants an implied (limited) license to Intel's customers - PC board manufactures, OEMs, chip set manufacturers - who use Intel's Slot 1 components. For years, Apple licensed nothing - then they tried licensing, then they stopped licensing. Re: "such action may bring careful examination by the justice department. " The Peoples Republic Of The Justice Department may try to revoke the privleges of invention and ownership of private property. I believe that our Supreme Court will endeavor to counteract such anti-American activities as they have done so in the past. Remember - the DOJ is supposed to uphold the law - not make new laws nor revoke individual and corporate rights and freedoms as guaranteed by our U.S. Constitution. Paul
