That's the lesson Andy learned when the Japanese took away their semiconductor business in the early-mid '80's. The strategy of going for share will enable you to get costs down. Then pass the benefit of lower costs on to the customer vis price declines. This virtuous cycle (along with continual innovation) will bury the competition.
