Read a little more and see the TI home page and read the articles about motors ,sight and hearing aids and many other applications. I guess you could say microprocessors are a commodity item because several companies can make them in volume but they are not like drams yet.Many products become commodity items if they are usefull and needed.Radios,TV,calculators,cameras ,copiers, printers,watches,drams,ICs, and cell phones. You just have to be a company with strong research and development and the will to implement new products and the courage to fail and start over .
