Hi Gordon: at the recent meet in Hungary, the general feeling was toppling quasi-govts is near impossible. Most delegates conceeded that MSFT will dominate. The general feeling is that whilst Applets are great, their priming and tweaking to suit platforms is not that easy.The JDK 2 release will still not embrace the Enterprise. In fact the general consesus was that we will see the start of Internet 2.(The pay as you use Channel) The poor-mans channel or the freebee channel will be the existing existing Channel. Once channel 2 develops, the Enterprise will dominate as they can afford to pay. Enterprises are quite comfortable with N.T and Java does not have the speed or applets to replace that. Perhaps someone more knowledgable could advise us how SUNW is going to increase its dollar sales , income & time frame. Thx.
