re: productivity, The optimist would look at how hard computers are to work with and say that we are just at the beginning of a golden age in productivity as we can considerably improve on usability. A pessimist would look at how hard computers are to work with and say: "I told you so".

If the voice recognition stuff takes off and works even a little bit we have a long way to go.

I am also in the medical field and I think I am much more productive due to patient data on the computer, computer scheduling, computer billing etc. We are only on the edge of what can come in the medical field regarding efficiency.
