The people at London Place Eye Centre (which was one of the pioneers of "no-touch" PRK) up in New Westminster, British Columbia, said their clinic in Hawaii has applied for an Investigational Device Exemption, allowing them to conduct U.S. trials, hopefully leading to approval within a few years.

LPEC's Don Johnson has worked closely with Visx to develop algorithms over the years, and now LPEC does only "no-touch" myopia treatments on the STAR, and "no-touch" hyperopia on Nidek since it has a larger treatment zone.

Don't expect U.S. approval too soon. Check out LPEC's homepage at lasereye.com
