Politicians used debt to buy votes. Bingo ! That is the contract the public entered into whereby they agreed to the debt... "The public" wouldn't know a deficit if they fell over it. In their personal finances they do... if not at any level... they should have no vote :O) Most people thought that owning Negro slaves was fair enough?
