INTC vs AMD vs NVDA CPU vs APU vs GPU+ARM
People on the Street maybe finally realize that the pad buzz is fool's gold until AAPL is out of the equation. That PC becomes utility, yes. That PC is replaced by pad, no. Netbooks of Atom is just a prelude to ultra-mobile computing, which iPad has found a home. But 11.6" form factor is not going away, as the popularity of a few 11"~12" Zacate netbooks can testify. If you see through the fog in this round, Atom is losing, Zacate is winning, Tegra is steaming.
Now forward looking at the next round, Atom-plus is surely pending but an unknown commodity, Krishna will definitely win more fans including this author, Tegra3 is another unknown down the road. I can sleep over Atom-plus fighting Tegra3 without AMD in the ring. I can definitely sleep well knowing that Krishna will walk over Atom-plus and Tegra3 in the market segments that matter to AMD.
AAPL continues to dominate where they fight now, and is going to take TV world upside down. It will take an epic fumble on the AAPL part AND a magical wand on the non-AAPL ARM world to chip away the dominance of iPadx in the tablet world.
So, as of now, I sleep well over INTC dividends, AMD APU prospects and AAPL dominance. If Honeycomb on Tegra3 really works as advertised, then I will give due credits to NVDA in the fight of pad.
