Steve- Roper supplies semi companies with a photoresist dispenser. Apparently they have an effective patent on a dispensing method which helps to create a uniform photoresist film on the wafers. This is in their fluid-handling segment, I believe. Gatan Instruments supplies equipment for scanning electron microscopes which are widely used in the semi business. The company's different units will occasionally, perhaps frequently, serve the same markets. However, I don't believe that a company which purchases Roper's compressors or pumps will then decide to buy from Roper's Analytical Instrument division simply because they were pleased with the pumps. In that respect I think prospective investors need to satisfy themselves that this company isn't losing focus by delving into too many cookie jars. Steve
