LEAPS - OFF TOPIC

Hi Lee,

I re-read my post. Alot of commas. I guess I was pretty excited.

Thanks for asking me what I'm doing now. I'm buying stock in the companies I think will do well in the coming years. I'm buying mutual funds in technology, oil and telecom.

I am starting to buy LEAPS again. However, I'm being somewhat conservative (for me). I'm slowly establishing positions in slightly out of the money 99's and 2000's as I watch with everyone else the events that unfold in SE Asia, the middle east, etc. I buy franchises. Intel, Cisco, Applied Materials, Microsoft. I'm also buying Dell, Compaq. As far as the LEAPS that I'm buying are concerned, I'm speculating that the prices I see on these stocks today will be higher a few or several months out.

My strategy is pretty straightforward. Watch the fundamentals on the companies you follow. Watch them like a hawk. The moment you catch wind they're changing, get out. If there is something better, move on. If not, stay on the sidelines. I've been out of AMAT since May. I love this company. Do you know how hard it's been not to take a position in this stock until recently?

As companies, I love what Intel and Cisco are doing. I use their products everyday. But as an investment, they're no different to me than AMD, Cyrix, Ascend, 3Com or Bay. This isn't to say that I haven't made more money with Intel and Cisco, only to say that I don't fall in love with the companies I invest in. I pay attention to what they're all doing and act accordingly.

I'm not sure (nor is Tito or anyone else) where the market is going. I do, as best I can, due diligence on the companies I'm thinking about investing in, compare them to like companies and take the action I see fit.

You're response was cool. Thanks. I've done well. I've been lucky. Real lucky. And smart enough, thanks in part to these threads and the people on them , to make some good money and put it away.

Tom
