It does appear that gov't heuristic accounting is at work with the rec's. I have an older machine, a dual processor, 3.08 GHz, so my rec only incremented the counter 955, as that's how much funnier the gov't assumed my computer's rec is worth than their baseline TRS-80 computer from Radio Shack in 1977.

Had I rec'ed it on my daughters new hummer machine, it would have incremented 3,498. A state of the art, 24 core machine today would increment the counter over 18,500. I don't know if I could risk reading funny stuff on a computer which is that powerful and productive.
