That was posted not intended to detract from AAPL...

Well they are a contract manufacturer for Apple and you posted it on the Apple investment thread. Not sure what the take away should be then.

Listen the cloths and shoes I wear, the imported fruit I eat, the dozens of imported products I own and touch every day, I'm not sure how I can possibly police the working conditions under which those are produced. When I turn on a light, as a consumer, can I influence how the coal miners were treated who produced the raw materials to generate the electricity?

Apple has tried, successfully to influence the working conditions at it's contract manufacturers. But it's more political or socio economic than it is business related. I suppose they could pull their manufacturing from China and move it to Detroit, a bold and patriotic idea, but then they likely wouldn't be competitive and wouldn't need to manufacture anything.
