Hi Trufflette: Thanks for the article, very interesting. I hear you, but as I said last week there are too many things that could happen at AAPL that could postpone profitability of being short. Christmas is coming, maybe their sales will get a boost, maybe they deliberately witheld some announcements. New CEO could cause stock to pop, or maybe nosedive for that matter. IOW there are too many risky unknowns at this time that could give the stock cause to rally.

Personally, I feel that there are some structures and corrective formations that are incomplete that at least involve testing higher levels. There was a notable inability to follow through on the downside last week and my guess is that is because we have broken the weekly downtrend line and last few weeks action was a classic retest of the downtrend line breakout. It would only take a move over 22 to convince me that this is in fact the case.

Just feels to me that shorting Apple here is akin to trying to short NSCP in the 20's. It's been a losing strategy for most of the year. I think there are better shorts around that may have more immediate and profitable downside.

In regards to the drillers, the massive onesidedness of bullish opinion is reminiscent of Telmex in late 94 when absolutely no-one recommended being short. Result was spectacular crash as 400 mutual funds scramble to get out of that one, so I think you are strategically correct in your thinking here.
