The old Republicans KNEW they could not take on the third rail of government i.e. social security and medicare. en.wikipedia.org The thing to ponder is not the danger of the Republcians actually pulling it off. Never a chance. The thing to ponder, is that they are so fucking blind they didn't know it. That much blindess is just too dangerous in a nuclear age. Dems will take back congress like FDR did after Hoover and we will keep it for a long time. Dems will give the human species a fighting chance. Republican's live in fantasy land. And Paul Ryan and his group of zealots pulled in the entire Republican house except 4 guys and those four guys are fine to buck their party like that. their goose is cooked as they cannot take back that vote. It is set in stone for 2012. Senate vote is this week. Reid is going to make them vote. This will be interesting after both Gingrich and the election today.
